Central Planning

You can be part of the problem, or part of the solution.  Or you can work in Washington DC doing both.

Self Pitty

Any time you are tempted to feel sorry for yourself or your situation, don't.  Because it's at that pivotal moment you are going to prove to yourself and the world a lesson that will be permanently written into your character.

The Manliest of Men

He was by the measure of many the manliest man in existence.
He feared nothing,
Felt no pain,
Courted many women,
Was a bachelor for life.
He gave no attention to the weak.
If something didn't go his way he forced it to.
He was never wrong.
He didn't waste his time talking about feelings.
Spent his time proving his strength,
Impressing his friends,
And could handle the strongest of drinks.
He was accountable to no one.
He let women know their place.

Yes, the manliest of men...
By the standard of fools.

Because he did have fears,
But didn't have courage to admit and face them.
He did feel pain,
But cowardly feared he would be judged for feeling it.
He did court many women,
But didn't ever respect one enough to see her value.
He was a bachelor for life,
But was always having to cover his miserable loneliness.
He did feel strong by looking down on the weak,
But missed the opportunity to learn compassion.
He imposed his will on others,
But only because he was too mentally weak to win support.
He was never wrong,
Because everyone around him had decided he wasn't worth arguing with.
He was too cool to share his feelings,
Because he suppressed his true self and had fake friends to maintain.
He proved his physical strength at every opportunity,
To cover up his puny little heart.
He impressed his friends,
...the ones that liked the false image he created of himself.
And he could handle the strongest of drinks,
Because a man is apparently defined by a beverage.
He was accountable to no one...
Because not being himself he really had nothing to contribute anyway.
He did let women know their place,
And any self respecting woman knew that place was far from him.

He was a fraud as he never let himself out...
And although his "friends" would say otherwise,
The manliest man wasn't a man at all.

Know Your Path

Greatness is taking the path you know you need to take despite being misunderstood, judged, even mocked.  Life is about fulfilling your unique purpose to play your role in advancing the bigger picture.  To complacently adopt the life mankind would have you fulfil isn't fulfilment at all. It is cowardice. Strive to know your path.  Be true to your character.  Fulfil your design regardless of social consequence. If you stand out too much it's all the more important because that's evidence there aren't enough people doing it.

Psalm of Resolve

When my world begins to implode,
When my dreams seem to have passed,
Help me to see the clearer view,
Strengthen me for the task.

Help me see the light of the Sun,
Even when it seems to be down.
Inspire memories of stronger days,
Where weeping had no ground.

Help me put a smile on the face of need,
Please make their trials known.
Help me heal the ones cut deep,
Let me forget about my own.

Give me strength to stand,
Even when on shaky ground,
Reveal for me the gifts deeply covered,
Let my mind be cleared and sound.

Distinguish my friends from my enemies,
Let the love swell for them both...
Feeling the sorrow of those who cause hurt,
But keeping those who matter close.

Help me to keep my eyes toward truth,
And distinguish it with resolve,
That my will be the same as yours,
And my troubles begin to dissolve.

Keep me patient and humble,
So my lessons will be learned.
To commit to and be true to them,
All thanks from my soul returned.

Growth Through Love

Sincere love is irrefutable and self evident,
It is truth in its purest form.
When at the forefront of the human mind,
Godlike attributes are born.

To live life in service to others,
To serve outward instead of in,
To lighten the burden of another,
Is where meaning of life begins.

Knowledge and power has it's place,
But one only needs so much,
For even God the omnipotent has all,
But finds fulfillment in lives touched.

If life ever seems stagnant,
Or that you've been dealt a sour hand,
Stop feeling sorry for yourself and serve,
Help the weak have the strength to stand.

You will find fulfillment on your darkest days,
You will see things much more clear,
You will feel the joy swell inside you,
With the presence of God so near.

There is an end in so many things,
But there is no end to love,
Investing in it there is no end of growth,
It continues even beyond death above.
